Birth Festival 2024 wrap-up

We were fortunate to have another absolutely beautiful day for our Baltimore Birth Festival on May 19, 2024.  A record 90+ vendors showed up to share their knowledge and resources with our Maryland families.  We hosted an amazing variety of service providers and businesses— from midwives and doulas to baby gear vendors, non-profit organizations, and artists—they all came out to benefit our birth community.  Several hundred attendees checked in at our registration tent and enjoyed meeting family-friendly businesses, rocking to live music and entertainment, and learning from fun, informative presentations.  We can’t wait to continue the tradition next year!  Save the date for the 2025 Baltimore Birth Festival on Sunday, May 18, 2025!  All proceeds benefit Maryland Families for Safe Birth and our continued work to promote birth justice and birth equity for Maryland families and reduce social/racial disparities in birth settings.

Registration now open for the 2025 Baltimore Birth Festival!

Maryland Families for Safe Birth is excited to announce that general registration is now open for the 2025 Baltimore Birth Festival! The festival will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Patterson Park in Baltimore.

Based on feedback from the 2024 festival, a number of changes have been made. The end time will return to 3 p.m. and the raffle will be held at 1 p.m.

In addition, we have not increased our fees since 2019 but have had to deal with higher costs to run the festival.  So in order to meet our fundraising goals and be as inclusive as possible, we have made a modest increase to the sponsor fees, added a new Platinum Sponsor level, and added options for reduced pricing for a number of vendor and sponsor levels.

MFSB Welcomes our Sponsors and Vendors for the 2024 Baltimore Birth Festival!

2024 Lobby Day is Cancelled

2/2/24 UPDATE – Our 2024 MFSB Lobby Day has been cancelled and instead we will be holding a Rally to promote maternity care and evidence-based, culturally informed birth options in Maryland and raise support for MFSB’s work and future legislation. Date for the Rally has not yet been announced but will be later in the legislative session, likely in late March. Please check back again soon for more information on the Rally, and we hope you can join us in Annapolis!

MFSB will not be having a Lobby Day in 2024 as originally planned. We will instead be holding a Rally, most likely in late March.

We need everyone to show up! This is your chance to let your voice be heard. Maternity care is a critical issue and we need to let our legislators know that we care about access to evidence-based, culturally sensitive maternity care in Maryland.
