June 20 update –
Dear Baltimore Birth Festival 2020 Supporters,
Thank you for your patience and support as our team has worked to navigate these unusual times. Sadly, we have been unable to find a way forward to hold our festival this year and thus are officially CANCELING this year’s Baltimore Birth Festival and rescheduling for 2021.
Despite the cancellation of this event, Maryland Families for Safe Birth is still hard at work in pursuit of our mission and our goals on behalf of Maryland families. And as our work continues, our financial needs remain. Raising funds to pay our lobbyist is essential for our legislative work to increase access to vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and midwifery care throughout our state. In addition to linking businesses and members of the Baltimore birth community, we were relying on our festival to fund our lobbying costs, which total more than $8,000 annually. Without this event, we will need to find other sources of funding. We are a 100% volunteer organization, and all the funds we raise go directly to our advocacy work.
We understand finances are a concern for many during this time but ask you to consider making a donation in any amount to help further MFSB’s legislative work in 2020. You may make a donation here.

April 6 update –
To All Baltimore Birth Festival Vendors and Patrons:
The Maryland Families for Safe Birth Board of Directors has been monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19. In line with the CDC’s recommendations, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Baltimore Birth Festival. We are working with Patterson Park to find an alternate date and will communicate that with you as soon as we have more information. Rest assured, we have every intention of still holding the festival in 2020 as long as we can safely do so. We appreciate your patience as we work through the details of this unexpected change. Maryland Families for Safe Birth is thrilled to host the second annual Baltimore Birth Festival!
Sunday, May 17th, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Patterson Park
Join vendors, care providers, local businesses, birth workers, and more for a day of family fun. If you’re looking for more information on what support there is for pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting in the Baltimore area, this festival is for you. Admission for this event is FREE!
We will be raffling off hundreds of dollars in baby, mom, and parenting items but you MUST come to the festival to win. Every attendee who checks in at our Festival tent will receive 2 FREE raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Festival tent between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Raffle drawing will be held at 2:00 PM and you must be present with ticket to win.
